Esther Warren is the pen name of Swedish author Andréa Warrebo, whose work explores Swedish history, emigration, folklore, family memory, women’s lives, and the quiet emotional worlds that often disappear from official history.

Her books are rooted in Dalsland, Sweden, where old cottages, forests, lakes, church records, family stories, country roads, and forgotten names form the foundation of a larger fictional world.

Through historical fiction, clean romance, narrative nonfiction, children’s stories, paintings, and music, Esther Warren creates an interconnected story world shaped by belonging, loss, migration, love, memory, and home.

Andréa Warrebo lives in Dalsland, Sweden, in a late eighteenth-century cottage surrounded by the landscape that inspires much of her writing.

She is deeply involved in local history, genealogy, Swedish emigration research, and the preservation of everyday heritage. Her family also helps care for a small country store museum, preserved much as it was in the early twentieth century.

Andréa left psychiatric care to write full-time — carrying twenty-five years of witnessed resilience, unspoken stories, and deep human understanding into every page she writes.
